its a beautiful sunday.
firstly, i studied a lot today. 6 chapters.
and i read up on islamis resurgency..
to me, thats a lot la eh.
secondly, i met up with the little cousins who never failed to bully me.
wait till i become ur tutor! hahh.


oh, i went for melayu.com.sg last fri.
i must say i was slightly disappointed. however there were some parts of the play that i really like.

anw, it felt like as if i was at speakers' corner years back.
like as if i attended some non-stop complaining session.
although i know very well that the director/actors/ whoever in that production intended to open eyes and make the audience realise the reality, i feel that along the way, the whole thing got really boring n dull.
maybe its just me.. haha. but seriously, so much talking and complaining and like what a member of the audience said, so much anger.

well believe it or not, at least 96% of the audience population are alr aware of all those malay identity issues brought out in the play. thats under the null hypothesis. if u disagree, gather enough evidence to reject it. aaha, k. watever. anw, back to the play, yah, i feel that the play was not much different from anak metropolitan or hanyut or ganyut. haha. ganyut . the play just merely raised up things we alr know. one of the actor said tt the play offers perspective not solutions. and shan, the asst director said the same thing. and he added that if the play were to provide solutions to those malay problems, audience may not like it.. hmm.

i thought i would leave the mini theatre, enlightened. but i kinda had the hurrr.. feeling when i got off the seat. i really feel that they should do something about the contents. cos s'pore malays have had enough of these kind of 'paparan realiti'. hah! and if u were to argue; "this kind of 'paparan realiti' will carry on, but are u, as an individual in the malay society, ready to accept it?" i suggest we come up with other means to encourage acceptance and understanding. a continous portrayal of these problems thru arts will not really help much i guess.

moving on to other parts of the play.. i like the background band. i think the opening was good and the bassist is cute.kahkah. but it would be so muchmuch better if we could comprehend wat they sang. although i envy their perfect timing when they had to coordinate with the actors, i felt sad for them. no. not that kesiaan kesian. but. i dunno, some time in the play, i wished it was them performing, and the actors dancing at the back.

anw, i like the idea of having them singing and like having a gig of their own while the actors screamed their lungs out to project their voices. the main reason of having the band there was to create some kind of confusion, disturbance, frustration? rafaat hamzah said that in life, we hear our neighbours blast their music (or something like tt la) but we cant do anythin and we haf to move on despite being disturbed. but the truth is, if our neighbours make noise, we can actually go up to their door and ram the door down! and then we move on with life.ok. merepek.
haha. i cant believe im actually talking so much bt this play.
anw, i like the cast. ok, not all. i haf my favourites. i like camelia and the les girl and the pak aji in kimono. haha. anw tt camelia girl is preeeettty!
and the rest were good. they could act. i like it..

haha. panjang lebar seh blog.. sems betul.
